UC Campus Crime & Safety

UC Campus Crime & Safety is on many parents minds who are considering sending their students off to college. In an effort to make it as easy as possible to compare the campuses side-by-side I have provided the campus street address for each school along with a link to the very popular crimemapping.com website that reports all crimes within a radius of any address typed in.

Popular campuses that not in the University of California System, that are popular choices for California residents, were also included above.

The Annual Crime reports above on campus safety are available thanks to the Jeanne Clery Act, which took effect in 1991. It requires colleges and universities to disclose their security policies, keep a public crime log, publish an annual crime report and provide timely warnings to students and campus employees about a crime posing an immediate or ongoing threat to students and campus employees. A new set of amendments, including updated emergency response and warning procedures and hate crime reporting standards were added to the Clery Act in 2008.
